HELP!

I AM IN NEED OF SERIOUS HELP!
I am in dire need of updating my camera and don't have a clue when it comes to all this technical stuff,  I usually leave it all for my dad! So I've had a little look around and am thinking of either Canon EOS 5D or stay and upgrade my Nikon...
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS??

TREND

This Spring brings us a really fun and flirty trend to sport. Gone is the season of friendly warm shades of nothing. Colour blocking has definitely been around before, this time making more of an explosion than ever. Lets face it, we don't all wear BRIGHT BOLD COLOUR BLOCKING outfits all year round.

Don’t be shy.  Any color can look amazing, if you pull it off properly. Personally the more colours, the more hideous you will look, like a beam of sunlight, everyone will be putting on their shades. Simple is the key. You don't have to overdo the whole colour thing, go nude on the bottom and dress it up with a bright neon top and belt.

Roksanda Ilincic silk-gazar jacket, Jil Sander colour-block leather wedge sandals, Joseph ange cotton cropped pants, Jil Sander two tone leather belt.

Jil Sander cotton-blend short sleeved shirt, Paul Smith yellow burnished leather belt, Jil Sander slim cotton-blend trousers, Richard James contrast cotton socks, Christian Louboutin louis studded hi-top sneakers in white.

Clockwise from top: Jil Sander market leather bag, Comme Des Garcons fluorescent leather wallet, stylists own bangles, Jil Sander two-tone leather brogues, Nixon time teller watch, Christopher Kane two-tone leather platform sandals.

Accessories the hell out of this trend. Girls: bright chunky bangles, two-tone heels. Guys: belts, watches, socks, all in bright block colour. Say goodbye to the drab and bring out that inner burst of WOW. After all, what is Spring without a bang of cheerful bright colors??

SPRING GLAMB

READ OF THE MONTH

'The' Lady has done it yet again. This time exploding on the cover of VMagazine Asian Issue!
Love or hate, Gaga has created something that many 'artists' haven't been able to do in quite some time, and she definitely deserves a round-of-applause for getting to where she is now! It's hard to think that her first overly generated pop hit, Just Dance, started a roller-coaster ride of number one hits, to overly impracticable and outrageous fashion, to a collaboration with Polaroid.

"The most outrageous and talked-about performer of today is also turning out to be the smartest and most unflinchingly honest. Lady Gaga’s new album proves that being number one doesn’t mean your dance music can’t be deeply and stirringly personal.."

Many people rant about how she's a total loony and gallivanting for attention left right and center, ultimately she has to be the smartest 'loony' to date for creating such a world-wide 'craze'. Gaga this Gaga that, it's everywhere, and  lets face it, she's here to stay!

SPRING GLAMB

THE Meat and Livestock Australia 2010 spring lamb marketing campaign kicked off in September last year!! Yes I am aware it was a while ago now, but I just had to share this with you. My friend and I were lucky enough to take part in this amazing television commercial experience. Check out all the photos and links below.
“Fashion and lamb are a perfect fit as they are both associated with spring – the fashion theme helps showcase lamb’s ownership of the season,” said Glen Feist, general manager of marketing at MLA.

The latest lamb campaign is the third in the 'We love our Lamb' 2010 marketing program, and follows the usual light-hearted, satirical style of lamb advertising, intending to reinforce lamb’s ownership of the season.
MLA promotes lamb in spring because it is the time of year when lamb supply is at its peak - approximately 8.8 million lambs are expected to be sold nationally between July and October," MLA's Glen Feist said.

"This year’s spring campaign features a new television commercial; it’s a parody of fashion advertising, and since lamb and fashion are both associated with spring it is a perfect fit," he said.
The new commercial was screened in capital cities for four weeks...

ITEM OF THE WEEK

This is a temporary-goodbye to my beloved Dior Homme, and hello to the beautiful scent of Blackcurrant Leaves and Bulgarian Rose. L'Ombre dans l'Eau is my latest purchase and smells like nothing I have ever smelt before in my life. The Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau Eau de Toilette Spray is a tad feminine for my liking, but every spray just gets better and better.

DOUBLE DENIM

I know what you're thinking, "it's been done before", what hasn't.? The double denim trend is here and it can be pulled of if you have the right denim & attitude.

Denim has been recorded to date back to the 18th Century. There are so many different types of denim out there, that if you wear the wrong type, things could be catastrophic. I personally find that matching double denim looks better wearing a darker denim jean dressed with an oversized-low-cut-t-shirt and lighter washed denim jacket, or vice versa.

The D&G Spring/Summer 2010 menswear collection has shown us guys that double denim doesn't have to be so cringe-worthy.

This amazing piece of modern art beats Karl and his 2007 documentary, 'Lagerfeld Confidential', by far. Don't get me wrong, I love Karl Lagerfeld and his amazing Chanel creations, he just doesn't give me that buzz like Marc does. Nothing personal at all.

Movies about artists are common enough, but rarely does one provide such insight on the fashion world and its artistic process.
Yes, ok, so I realize that I am 4 or so years behind with this documentary but do i care? Not in the slightest, at least i can enjoy it NOW! This in-depth look into the fashion world, Marc Jacobs world, Louis Vuitton world, defiantly sets this documentary apart from others. Marc is the first American designer to be creative-director of the Paris fashion house, Louis Vuitton, the documentary shows us how and why he and his designs are so brilliant and successful. Watching Marc Jacobs puff away on endless amounts of Marlboro cigarettes, as bad as it sounds, is actually quite enjoyable. This is a must watch for all.

Are you sick of being down in the dumps? Get rid of those 'winter blues' by taking note of these 5 must-haves to help you get through the long cold days and nights.
  1. Fashion - Knitwear is massive this winter and will definitely keep you warm through the day and night. Oversized, chunky, textured cardigans and jackets are a wardrobe must.
  2. Shoes - Guys, boots have made a return. On a recent trip to Sydney i fell in love with these superb leather boots which i wear all the time now. They can be worn with skinny-leg jeans, or oversize pants and tucked into the boot. Girls, grab yourself a pair of clogs. If you haven't already made your mind up whether you're a fan or not, then listen to this. At first when one of my girlfriend's said she was purchasing a pair of clogs i laughed in her face. I couldn't understand as to why clogs were 'in'. After being dragged along to Gorman, i finally understood why females are going crazy for clogs. What a genius idea to transform the typical clog to a style with straps and studs etc. Clogs are chic, they are a must, whether they're worn with knee-length socks, stockings, bare legged, pants, skirts, or dresses.
  3. Accessories - Winter accessories are my one true love. Adding that extra item can either make or break an outfit. Chunky, knitted, oversized scarves are one of my must haves this winter/spring. When are beanies not 'in'? Not only do they keep your head warm, but they look great on girls and guys. There are so many styles, colors and patterns around. Fingerless gloves are no longer the shabby look, they keep your fingers toasty while giving your outfit a chic yet casual feel.
  4. Beauty - Nude lips are fresh and a necessity for guys and girls. Guys, try Blistex Lip Ointment which conditions and prevents cracked lips, while also taking away redness to create a nude look. Girls, try out MAC Cosmetics Lip Conditioner.
  5. Homewears - Recently a friend bought me a Diptyque candle. Diptyque was founded in 1961 Pairs, by three friends. The sent of Black-current and Romanian Rose fills my room constantly. These candles are to die for.

FILMING TV COMMERCIAL

image

I was up and ready for action @ 5am this mrning. Like, who wakes up that early, besides the Sunrise crew, sersly not me ever. Today was the only exception because i was being filmed as an extra for a TV Commercial. Super fun, filmed from like 9am till 7:30pm. OHHHHH BOYYYY it’s tiring work being filmed. Stay tuned for the commercial, when it airs i shall post it up.
Then rushed straight to THE awards night of nights. Champagne was free-flow. OhhhGosh, bad idea. Great company and friends around.
Fun day/night I’m pooped.

ITEM OF THE WEEK

Grown Vanilla & Orange Peel Hand Cream is such a nifty product. I have always been told I have soft hands. Well, the secret is now out Bitchesss! This cream is genius, it's non-greasy formula literally soothes and softens terrible skin. Not only can you use it as a hand cream, but on feet, knees or a all-over-body lotion.

Fur.

Would you rather go naked than wear fur? I'd like to think that most people, except those who have views such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), would rather wear fur, or at least have an appreciation for it.
My close friend has a huge passion for fur and is often overwhelmed with excitement and joy when she sees a fur coat or fur cropped jacket.
"..look at this amazing fur jacket.. this is the one that i've been looking for, i must have it.."
Even though i would never wear fur myself, unless it's to a dress-up party, i share the same excitement that my friend has. We both get a tad over-excited whenever we see fur, be it in a magazine, on the shoulders of the lady across the road, styled in one of the latest Vogue or Grazia photo shoots, or in our local vintage store, etc.
Yes, they may all look the same and feel the same to you, but to my friend each jacket is never the same, one week it's a leopard fur knee-length coat, then the next it's a cropped brown faux fur jacket. That could be the jacket that i make her wear to the next party, her next date, or even down to the supermarket. Fur is timeless and can be worn anywhere. It completes a look, and doesn't necessarily have to be for the Royal.
